A New Start

Ole finally gets a tune out of United

Since signing a permanent deal to become Manchester United manager it's fair to say it's been stop start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford. The stars he so heavily relies on haven't been performing and since selling Romelu Lukaku in the summer, it's been hard to see who's likely to chip in with 20+goals a season to help push United towards a top 4 spot in the Premier League.

Summer signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have been impressive in their debut seasons however and in many ways helped to drag a few of the other players along with them. Midfielder, Fred, has finally started to show some of the promise and performance expected of him when United signed him 2 years ago for a huge sum of money. If he can keep his current level up there'll be no worry about allowing Paul Pogba to leave in the summer in order to fund the much needed acquisition of a new striker and potentially another centre back.

If I were a gambling man it's fair to say that I would be looking to put a few quid on Manchester United to surprise one or two next season and challenge for the title. If any of you are thinking of having a dabble, check out Casino Hawks. Pretty sure you'll like what you find.

When I think about potential singings the Ole could make I wouldn't look any further than the premier league. Raul Jimenez of Wolverhampton Wanderers would be the perfect striker to bolster the ranks, whilst I'd love to see someone like Lewis Dunk or Conor Coady signed up to partner Harry Maguire at the back.

The season targets for 2019/20 will have been to push on from what was starting to gel last season and whilst it's fair to say that hasn't entirely been the case, I expect that by the end of 2020/21 we may well be looking back and seeing this Christmas period as the turning point for the Red Devils. The fans have been very patient since Sir Alex Ferguson left but it remains to be seen how long that lasts. Jose Mourinho brought an element of success with a League Cup win followed by victory in the Europa League but all in all, it's been a very baron 10 years and a title push next season would be very well receieved.
