Thank god the International break is over. Does anyone actually enjoy the break anymore? Internationals really aren't what they used to be. I'm sure this is partly down to how miserable it it watching England struggle to break down Malta or the knowledge that even if we do qualify for a major tournament, the likelihood is that we'll lose to someone of the stature of Iceland when the pressure is really on..
First half - The Banker
In my opinion, these bets should never lose. As a team we lose very few of these and having looked through the teams selections this weekend I will be very surprised if we lose any. I've gone for Arsenal or the Draw, Juventus to win at home to Chievo & Inter to get the three points at home to Spal. We all love a good Accumulator to be fair though. Check some out at PA.
Half time chat - Double-Up Double
In my opinion this is the toughest bet type that we try to predict each week. I find myself trying to avoid the ones I've already included in my banker or 7-fold and so I tend to pick something out that I like but don't necessarily like enough to back for big money. That all being said, I'm hugely confident of this weeks selections. Both Arsenal & Young Boys are very strong at home in their respective divisions and both find themselves playing at home to teams expected to finish towards the bottom of the league. See if Arsenal got the job done here.
Second half - Elite 7
I've only lost one of these so far. It's my type of bet. A long acca that requires a lot of sure fire selections to get the job done. This week I've gone for 3 winners and 4 teams simply not to lose. We start with Real Madrid on Saturday lunch time at home to Levante. I expect a comfortable home win to set us up for another profitable weekend on this bet type.
Added time - 4/1+ Single
I've won a couple of these so far. I like the handicap bets and am convinced that they hold the most value. Blackburn are away to Rochdale and simply to win I think they are great value. But take them to win by 2 or more and bag yourself odds of over 4/1!
Full time - Season Long Bets
Early days in terms of the season long predictions. West Ham have been horrendous so far, Villa so-so, Portsmouth so-so, Forest Green relatively poor. But we're barely a month in. My outrights look a bit better. Sort of...
